She earned a degree in Government and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia. She has more than 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors. She has served as Advisor to the Vice Minister of Culture, Advisor to the Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Coordinator of Aid for Development of the International Cooperation Directorate of that same Ministry and as Advisor to the Directorate of Government and Strategic Areas of the Presidency of the Republic,  Director of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia and Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO. 

In the private sector, she has been Program Manager of Fundación Telefónica in Colombia and Executive Deputy Director of the Institute of Political Science, Hernán Echavarría Olózaga among others.
