Fernando Cortés Vela, Director – Higher Studies Office.

He is a social communicator and journalist graduated from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. He majored in Information Services Management at Universidad de Antioquia, and he holds a master’s degree in Urban and Environmental Processes from Universidad EAFIT.

Throughout his professional career, he has assumed leadership roles in highly relevant public entities, such as the Mayor’s Office in Medellín and the Governor’s Office of Antioquia, in urban, rural and social development projects, as well as initiatives related to the impact of infrastructure on the territories.

Fernando Cortés has participated as advisor in international cooperation and local progress initiatives, promoting collaboration between different public, private and community actors.

In the academic sector, he was professor at various universities on topics such as public communication, the use and appropriation of knowledge.
