John Jairo Ramírez Barrero, Director of Protection and Assistance Office.

He received his undergraduate degree in systems engineering from the Universidad de Tolima and in law from Institución Universitaria de Colombia. He majored in criminal law and criminology, productivity and quality management, and project management from Universidad Libre and Universidad Autónoma de Colombia.

He joined the Attorney General’s Office in 1999 as court assistant. Subsequently, he held various positions as an assistant for investigations, investigator, judicial police advisor and prosecutor assigned to the Directorate on Crimes against Natural Resources and the Environment.

His academic experience, skills and professional background have allowed him to lead some planning, coordination, management, execution and evaluation processes in administrative, investigation and criminology areas. Likewise, he has used his knowledge in multiple judicial procedures, telematics, security, protection and criminal investigation and analysis.

He participated in diploma courses, courses and seminars offered by United States and the United Kingdom embassies about intelligence and monitoring, analytics, protection operations, witness investigator course, and forensic sciences. In addition, he has training in transitional and gender justice, crime scene examination and money laundering.
