María Milena Méndez Moreno, Director-Office of International Affairs.

She holds a Law degree and she majored in Constitutional Law at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She also received a Master’s degree in Constitutional Law from Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo and a Master’s degree in Human Rights from Universidad Externado de Colombia, in partnership with Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain).

She was prosecutor in a branch office and she also has more than 15 years of professional experience in the Judiciary, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations. In the latter, she participated in the design and implementation of international cooperation projects aimed at strengthening access to justice, law enforcement, and the institutional strengthening of the justice sector.

During her work at the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia, she held leadership and strategic coordination positions, such as Deputy Director of Criminal Policy, and Director specialized in the fight against Human Rights Violations.

She was university professor of areas related to Constitutional Law, Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Law at Universidad del RosarioUniversidad de Magdalena and Universidad Santo Tomás.
