At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a supervisory judge issued a prison sentence against two men allegedly belonging to Farc dissident known as Óliver Sinisterra, for their alleged responsibility in the murder of social leader Ómar Moreno Ibagué, committed on December 28th, 2020 in La Guayacana sector in the municipality of Tumaco (Nariño).

As part of the strategy to dismantling criminal organizations and the clarification of serious affectations against human rights defenders, charges were brought against the alleged ringleader of the aforementioned armed group, Jhon Jarwin Casierra Cuero, alias El Abuelo; and Jefferson Humberto Arciniegas Palma, alias el Gordo; who were arrested by CTI members of the Prosecutor’s Office, the National Police and the National Army in Cali (Valle) and Tumaco, respectively.

Alias ​​el Abuelo will be charged with aggravated murder, aggravated forced disappearance; manufacture, trafficking, or possession of firearms, parts, or ammunition and aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime. Alias el Gordo was only charged with the last offense.

The investigations proved that the victim, who was a member of the Trade Union Sindicato de Trabajadores Agrícolas Independientes del Meta (Sintragrim), the federation Federación Nacional Sindical Unitaria Agropecuaria (Fensuagro), and the   Patriotic Union, was killed and disappeared by several armed men riding motorcycles.

The day of the facts, the attackers intercepted the inter-municipal transport in which Moreno Ibagué was traveling from the rural area known as Llorente headed for Pasto (Nariño), and took him out of the vehicle by force. Later, he was transferred to a house near the road where he was apparently tied up and tortured.

This criminal activity was apparently recorded by the alleged perpetrators and disseminated in the sector as a way of intimidation.

Based on testimonies, photos, and wiretappings, it was possible to infer the possible belonging of those investigated to the dissident group, as well as their participation in the crime of the social leader.
