A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Bolívar (Seccional Bolivar) prosecuted 10 alleged members of the criminal group Los Caleteros, who are alllegedlly involved in local drug trafficking in Cartagena.
The individuals are: Kelvis José Hernández Padilla, Yordis Valente Polo, Claudia Patricia Puello Ramírez, Pedro Morales Crisón, Alexander Botte Galán, Jesús David Machado Morales, Segrid Arellano Zúñiga, Mateo Barrios Barros, Eduarda Galán Silgado and Dilson Galán Silgado.
According to the investigation, the criminal network was involved in storing narcotics to sell them at fixed points and through home delivery in Flor del Campo neighborhood. For this purpose, the defendants allegedly carried out roles as ‘campaneros’ (acting as a lookout), distributors, delivery personnel, and collectors.
During five home searches conducted by the National Police in the aforementioned sector, seven of the defendants were arrested. The others were arrested on public roads in the same area.
The Office of the Attorney General charged them with conspiracy to commit a crime and trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics. None of them pleaded guilty to the charges. All of them were sent to prison.
