The Attorney General’s Office brought four men before a judge. They were allegedly involved in violent robberies of vehicles on roads in Norte de Santander.

The defendants were identified as Jeison Enrique Escorcia Ariza, Luis Alfonso Pedraza, Heraldo Africano Durán and Yorman Africano Soto, and a sectional prosecutor charged them with aggravated robbery.

Investigations revealed that the men apparently detained the driver of a truck between Pamplona and Chitagá (Norte de Santander) when he was traveling to Bucaramanga (Santander). The victim was allegedly intimidated with firearms and forced to get out of the cargo vehicle in which cocoa was transported.

The defendants were located and arrested in fragante in Los Patios (Norte de Santander). Cell phones and a vehicle were seized during the operation. The stolen items were also recovered.

Those involved were sent to the so-called Modelo prison in this city, but they did not accept their responsibility for the facts.
