The Office of the Attorney General prosecuted Juan Manuel Giraldo Archila as the alleged responsible for the crimes of manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of firearms; and trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics. 

The defendant was arrested on January 22 during home search operations carried out by National Police and Army in properties located in the neighborhoods Prados del Este and El Contento in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander). 

During the procedures, the authorities seized a revolver, cartridges of different calibers, 2,000 grams of coca base paste, 1,450 grams of creepy marijuana, two cell phones, firearm scopes, a magazine, a pistol barrel, and items used for preparing doses of narcotic substances. 

In the preliminary hearing, Giraldo Archila did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the  Office of the Attorney General, and a municipal criminal judge imposed a preventive detention in prison.
