Cristian Darío Dorado Hernández, alias Dorado, is allegedly responsible for the robbery and murder of social leader Diego Fernando Ruiz Soto, that took place on March 21 in a public area of Pradera (Valle del Cauca).

According to the evidence obtained by the Office of the Attorney General, this man allegedly intercepted the victim, threatened him with a firearm into handing over his belongings, fired at him, took his motorcycle, and fled the scene.

The social leader was taken to a medical center but arrived without vital signs.

After several judicial police activities carried out to locate the individual involved in the armed attack, alias Dorado was identified and arrested by the Technical Investigation Corps and units of the National Police in a property in Pradera.

Meanwhile, a prosecutor appointed to the Special Investigation Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigación UEI) charged him with aggravated homicide; manufacture, trafficking, possession, or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, and ammunition; qualified and aggravated theft; and trafficking, manufacture, or possession of narcotics.

The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges and must serve a prison sentence.
