The Attorney General’s Office brought Brayan Estiben Cataño Ríos before a judge for his alleged responsibility in the murder of a man in a rural area of ​​Palermo (Huila).

A prosecutor appointed to the so-called Unidad de Vida (Life Unit) of the branch office in Huila (Sectional Huila) charged him with aggravated homicide and manufacturing, trafficking and possession of firearms, accessories or ammunition.

The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges, and a judge sentenced him to prison.

According to the investigation, on December 22, 2024, in the corner of the main park of Centro Poblado Juncal, the victim was spending time with some friends in a commercial establishment.

Due to the consumption of liquor, a dispute took place between a person and the defendant who, in a moment of intolerance, allegedly shot the victim several times, and died on the scene. The alleged aggressor run away towards Meta to evade the action of the authorities.

This person was arrested by Technical Investigations Corps- CTI of the Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with the Army of Gaula and the National Police in the sector known as Llanerito in the rural area of ​​Puerto López (Meta), while he was working in a farm.
