The Office of the Attorney General identified and prosecuted people responsible for massacre named ‘El Tarra’

In addition to those involved in the death of the 10 victims which took place on July 30^th 2018, other members of the EPL Front known as Libardo Toro or ‘Pelusos’ who committed offenses in El Tarra (Norte de Santander, were also prosecuted.

The Special Investigation Unit (UEI) of the Office of the Attorney General continues in its effort to prosecute those people responsible for crimes and/or threats against social leaders or former members of armed groups who returned to civilian life, as well as for intimidation of their relatives.

Last November 4th, José del Carmen Ovallos Pérez aka ‘Raspao’ was arrested. He is the last of the alleged individuals who took part in the so-called El Tarra massacre (Norte de Santander) who has not been prosecuted.

The action against Ovallos Pérez allowed the Special Investigation Unit (UEI) to identify and prosecute  those individuals who took part in the so-called El Tarra massacre which took place on July 30, 2018, and caused 10 deaths which included 4 former combatants and 1 social leader.
