“Illegal mining is a terrible crime which is affecting Colombian citizens and that requires severity of State”: stated Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez

At the exhibition opening event ‘La Miseria del oro. Mineria ilegal’ which took place at the museum of the Office of the Attorney General, the prosecuting authority warned about the seriousness of the phenomenon which is spreading throughout the country.

From October 17^th, the museum of the Office of the Attorney General will have a new itinerant exhibition denominated ‘La Miseria del oro. Minería ilegal’.

It is an exhibition that reconstructs the circumstances of this criminal phenomenon in Colombia, raises awareness about the seriousness of its effects on the economic, environmental and sociocultural fields and aims at drawing people´s attention to this problem that is spreading throughout the national territory. Currently, the 70% of mining in the country is not legal.
