The Office of the Attorney General prosecuted two men who were allegedly caught transporting four tons of hydrocarbons in a tan truck at kilometer three in the road from Ubaté to Simijaca (Cundinamarca).

The defendants, identified as Jhony Alejandro Romero Castañeda and Jeisson Alberto Peña, were charged with receiving hydrocarbons. They did not plead guilty to the charges.

These individuals were arrested in flagrante on November 5 at a National Police checkpoint in Ubaté (Cundinamarca). Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities found four tons of a mixture of illegal liquefied petroleum gas, equivalent to 4,700 liters.

When they were questioned about the permit by the competent authorities, they stated they did not have it. The verification of the crude oil that was transported established that it was valued at 18 million COP and was allegedly destined for Chiquinquirá (Boyacá).
