A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Valle del Cauca (Seccional Valle del Cauca) brought four men, who are in a temporary prison in Buenaventura, before a judge. They would be allegedly extorting money from other inmates at the same prison.
The people allegedly involved are: Wilmar Daniel Riascos Urbano, Wilber Ruiz Angulo, Miller Fabián Mosquera Riascos and Héctor Alfredo Grueso Riascos who were charged with aggravated extortion by a prosecutor from the branch office in Valle del Cauca.
The events under investigation took place between March and April of this year when the defendants allegedly identified themselves as leaders of a section and, on behalf of a criminal group, demanded 10 million COP pesos from the victims.
They also allegedly forced the victims to call their family and friends to transfer money to the defendants’ bank accounts.
Members of Gaula- National Police conducted the arrest warrants for the four alleged suspects on August 18.
