María Yolanda Lotero López, alias La Mona, was sentenced by a judge in Caldas to 10 years and 8 months in prison. The woman was found responsible for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics.
The Prosecutor’s Office showed that ‘La Mona’ led a drug sale business in which she used a neighborhood store as a front. As it was determined, the illegal substances were packaged in small doses that she hid inside the walls of the place.
Lotero López was arrested on August 27, 2021 in a home search carried out in a property located in Monserrate de Aguadas sector (Caldas). During the proceeding, the authorities found more than 16 million COP in cash and various amounts of narcotics.
Lotero López must serve a prison sentence in Manizales.
