At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against José David Gutiérrez Tovar, allegedly involved in extortions committed against a merchant in Villanueva (Casanare).

Due to these facts, the man was arrested on January 20 when he, apparently, received a sum of money that he had previously demanded from the victim for not killing him. The arrest was carried out by Gaula-National Police.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged Gutiérrez Tovar with aggravated extortion but he did not plead guilty.
