The First Circuit Court in Neiva (Huila) sentenced Mario Alberto Trujillo Bernal to 40 years and 7 months in prison (489.5 months). He is responsible for the aggravated femicide of his sentimental partner.

The evidence presented by the Office of the Attorney General indicates that the convicted person caused multiple serious injuries to his ex-girlfriend, Yudi Fernanda Pérez Uribe, since he repeatedly and systematically beat her on June 2, 2020, in neighborhood Gaitán in Neiva (Huila).

The woman was in hospital for 11 days and she died on the 13th day of the same month in a hospital in Neiva, as a result of the violent acts.

According to the Office of the Attorney General, in this case, there was a repetitive cycle of physical and psychological violence against the victim who had been attacked by the defendant.

After a preliminary agreement with the Office of the Attorney General, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charges.

The sentence became final.
