After approving the evidence presented by a prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Sucre, a judge sentenced Jesús David Díaz Ávila and Eliécer Antonio Escobar Julio to 18 years in prison for their responsibility in manufacturing, trafficking or possession of firearm.
The decision is related to facts that occurred on April 22, 2014 on the road that leads from Sincelejo to Tolú Viejo (Sucre) where National Police arrested those convicted when they tried to evade a registration in a checkpoint.
When they were arrested, a revolver and three 32 caliber cartridges were found in their possession, without a permit or license.
In the course of the proceedings, the court issued an arrest warrant against those involved so that they could serve their sentence in a prison.
