At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Brikman Orlando Pérez Cárdenas and Óscar Alejandro Rodríguez Cantor, accused of intimidating the residents of the rural area of Cristalina, jurisdiction of the municipality of Puerto Gaitán (Meta).
The Attorney General’s Office charged both men, who were arrested in flagrante delicto, with manufacturing, trafficking and possession of weapons, ammunition for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the armed forces or explosives. The defendants pleaded guilty to this charge.
According to information received by the National Army, members of the criminal organization ‘Segunda Marquetalia’ were in the rural area of this municipality. The defendants were arrested on October 5 at a military checkpoint. A rifle, a pistol with its respective ammunition, two high-cylinder motorcycles and 20 million COP in cash were seized from them during their arrest.
