Roger Grandet Chávez allegedly participated in crimes such as homicides, firearms trafficking and terrorism. He was in the organization for more than 8 years.

The conclusive evidence presented by a prosecutor from the support structures group (Estructuras de Apoyo EDA) was enough to prosecute Roger Grandet Chávez, alias El Costeño, for the crimes of conspiracy to commit aggravated crimes and aggravated homicide.

Alias El Costeño is allegedly responsible for the commission of 21 homicides in the department of Sucre, throughout his 8 years as member of the Gaitanista Self-Defense Forces of Colombia.

He also has 44 records for homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime, firearms trafficking and terrorism, among others.

In 2022, as leader of the Manuel José Gaitán Substructure, he allegedly ordered terrorist actions within the framework of the armed strike as well as the execution of the so- called ‘plan pistola’ and actions to threaten law enforcement authorities in the region.

Currently, he would be the leader of the Nicolás Antonio Urango substructure that commits crimes in the department of Bolívar and in the city of Cartagena.

Gaula from Army and the Dijín- National Police arrested alias El Costeño on November 14 in San Juan Nepomuceno (Bolívar).

Although he did not plead guilty to the charges, a judge sent him to prison.
