A specialized prosecutor from the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Sectional Office in Tolima prosecuted seven alleged members of the criminal group ‘Los Galleros’, involved in drug trafficking in the municipality of Espinal (Tolima).
The defendants were allegedly involved in petty drug dealing of marijuana and cocaine in parks of neighborhoods of the municipality such as: San Rafael, Centro, Betania, Campestre and La Estación.
The defendants are: Cristian Alfonso Cortés Parrado, Nelson Fernando Rivera Castañeda, Wilson Enrique Díaz Gómez, Mauricio Ospina Vásquez, Marlon Danery Murillo Gañón, Isidro Cortés Martínez and Willintong Rozo Sánchez.
The defendants were arrested by the Police and Army. During these actions, ammunition of various calibers, marijuana, cocaine and a cell phone were seized.
Due to these facts, the Office of the Attorney General charged the defendants with conspiracy to commit a crime; trafficking, possession of narcotics and illegal manufacturing, trafficking or possession of firearms or ammunition. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
The seven defendants were sent to prison.
