After approving a preliminary agreement between the Attorney General’s Office and the defendants, the Eighth Specialized Court in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander) convicted three men for their responsibility in the trafficking of narcotics

According to the investigations carried out by the prosecutor’s Office, the defendants distributed and sold cocaine in the Tucunaré, Claret neighborhoods and Juan de Atalaya in Cúcuta.

Those convicted are:

  • Franklin Alejandro Cárdenas Cadena, sentenced to 59 months in prison and the payment of a fine of 12 legal minimum wages.
  • Fernando Enrique Torres Florez and José Andres González González, sentenced to 37 and 33 months in prison respectively, and the payment of a fine of 2 legal minimum wages respectively.

These people, who were arrested on June 28, 2021 by the National Police, will continue to be deprived of their liberty in Modelo prison in Norte de Santander.
