The Office of the Attorney General’s investigations allowed to prosecute five alleged members of a criminal structure involved in demanding large sums of money in exchange for not making an attempt on merchants and citizens of Magdalena lives.

It is Los Caballeros, who since 2018 have been committing crimes in the municipality of Fundación (Magdalena) and were receiving orders from the Clan del Golfo.

Those captured by virtue of a court order are Roy Andrés Fontalvo Barrios, Julio César Rodríguez Ortíz and Danilo de Jesús Torres Cantillo. For their part, Cristian de Jesús Orozco Romo and Robinson David Orozco Romo were notified at prison. This last person allegedly continued with the criminal activity from the La Tramacúa prison in Valledupar.

The defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit an aggravated crime for the purpose of extortion and attempted aggravated extortion. They did not plead guilty.

Due to the conclusive evidence provided by the Prosecutor’s Office, an itinerant criminal judge in Santa Marta imposed a prison sentence against the five people under investigation.
