The crime was committed, apparently, to steal the victim’s belongings
A judge sent Leonardo de Jesús Flórez, the alleged murderer of Rosalía Álvarez Monsalve, to prison at the request of a prosecutor from the Sectional Office in Quindío Section,
Investigations showed that on June 1, 2020, the victim was at home, in Patio Bonito neighborhood in Armenia. In the place, there was also her son and the defendant to whom the woman gave an space at her house so that he could set up his upholstery workshop there.
The investigation indicates that once the woman and the alleged aggressor were alone in the residence; he apparently attacked her with a sharp weapon and seized jewelry, cash, and other items.
For these facts, Flórez was charged with aggravated homicide and aggravated robbery. He did not plead guilty.
