After a home search procedure, it was found a residence where, apparently, the organization stored weapons. It occurred in the rural area of Ciénaga de Oro (Córdoba).
The conclusive evidence presented by a sectional prosecutor from Cereté (Córdoba) was approved by a municipal judge from Ciénaga de Oro and therefore, he issued a prison sentence against Manuel Antonio Romero Vásquez and Félix Antonio Jiménez Macea.
The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with manufacturing, trafficking and possession of firearms or ammunition for storage. They did not plead guilty to the charges.
According to the investigation, the events occurred in the rural area of Los Venados, in the municipality of Ciénaga de Oro, when, apparently, inside a house, the so-called Clan del Golfo organization was storing weapons, ammunition, and narcotic substances, and people belonging to the aforementioned gang remained in the place to guard.
After home search procedures were carried out on August 1, 2022, the defendants were arrested and found in possession of two firearms.
