The victim was attacked during a prison visit at Palogordo Maximum Security prison (Santander)

After pleading guilty to aggravated femicide, Ronald Torres Vega was sentenced to 40 years and 3 months in prison, who accepted his responsibility for the death of his 38-year-old wife.

The facts occurred on April 2 in a conjugal visit at the Palogordo Maximum Security prison in Girón, (Santander), when the man stabbed his wife 14 times with a sharp weapon.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she died on May 14.

The convicted man, 39 years old, was in prison and was serving a 23-year sentence for the crimes of aggravated homicide and illegal possession of weapons for facts committed in 2017.
