A judge accepted the request made by a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Reacción Inmediata Immediate (URI) and sent Gerald David Pereira Castro and Devin Joseph Bryan Collazos to prison. They allegedly committed, according to their individual responsibilities, manufacturing, traffic and possession of firearms and receiving stolen property.
The defendants were arrested in a home search procedure carried out by National Police officers in a house in San Luis neighborhood in San Andrés Isla, on February 28. In the operation, a firearm was seized and a laptop that was reported stolen.
During the hearings, the men did not plead guilty to the crimes charged by the prosecutor’s Office. The security measure will be served in prison by virtue of a judicial decision.
