The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted five alleged members of the criminal group Los Picagallos, involved in robberies, in which people were intimidated with firearms and sharp knives in Pitalito (Huila). In this sense, three people were sent to prison and two minors detention measures in a juvenile detention center.
Those people arrested in home searches carried out by members of Sijín in the Popular, La Esperanza and Los Pinos neighborhoods of Pitalito (Huila) were prosecuted for their alleged responsibility in the crimes of aggravated robbery, receiving stolen property and use of minors for committing crimes.
They are two minors under 16 years of age, and three older people Juan Camilo Rodríguez Rivera, alias Mesías, Brandon Steven Alvarado Artunduaga, alias Mojarro and Juan David Ariza Castillo, alias Castillo, the latter was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of receiving.
The investigation established that this criminal structure stole belongings such as cell phones, money, and jewelry from different people on the street and in commercial establishments such as bakeries.
In one of the facts that took place on December 31, 2021, the defendants apparently used a firearm to intimidate two men who were riding a motorcycle in the neighborhood named Popular and allegedly stole it. It was recovered on July 30 of this year.
All the defendants, with the exception of Ariza Castillo, pleaded guilty to the charges brought by the Prosecutor’s Office.
