Thanks to the coordination of the investigative capacities, the Office of the Attorney General, through the Sectional Office in Cundinamarca and Sijin of the National Police, achieved the arrest and prosecution of two men who would be responsible for the crime of a woman committed on 25 February 2019, in Cáqueza (Cundinamarca).
One of the defendants with his accomplice, would have planned the murder of his former partner in order fail to appear before a family court and evade the payment of the legal child support obligations related to his children.
According to the report of Legal Medicine, the 40-year-old victim died violently due to strangulation.
For these facts, the Office of the Attorney General charged them with aggravated femicide. Given the conclusive evidence, the two men pleaded guilty to the charges. For his part, the 1st Municipal Judge of Cáqueza (Cundinamarca) of mixed jurisdiction* imposed a detention measure with imprisonment.
This clarification was possible, thanks to the strategy of prioritization and comprehensive investigation of cases of femicide defined by the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado.
