At the request of a prosecutor from the municipality of Tiquisio (Bolívar), a judge issued a prison sentence against Octavio José Jiménez Cruz, allegedly responsible for the crime of domestic violence.
The judicial decision is related to facts that occurred in a neighborhood of that population located in the south of Bolívar, where the defendant, 32 years old, lived with his sentimental partner.
Apparently, the person allegedly involved had repeatedly physically and verbally abused his sentimental partner. This caused the victim some psychological problems.
The most recent attack occurred on a public road in El Silencio neighborhood, where Jiménez Cruz presumably hit his 31-year-old girlfriend. The woman was helped by passers-by and he was arrested in flagrante delicto by the National Police.
The person allegedly involved did not plead guilty to the charges and he must serve the sentence in the prison Camilo Torres in Magangué.
