After accepting the arguments presented by the Attorney General’s Office, a judge deprived eight people of their liberty. They apparently were engaged in drug trafficking in an urban area of ​​the city of Montería (Córdoba).

According to the investigation that began in May 2020 by a prosecutor, it was determined the existence of a criminal group involved in the sale of drugs in the neighborhoods on the left areas of the Sinú River.

The testimonies, the verifications, among others, were the evidence collected by the Attorney General´s Office to carry out 7 raids on December 9th in which those accused were arrested.

At the hearings, the defendants were charged with aggravated conspiracy for drug trafficking.

The defendants are:

  2. Julián Andrés Díaz Guzmán
  3. Eduardo Manuel Bravo Cuadrado
  4. Juan Carlos Mercado Hernández
  5. Jorge Arturo Mieles Mercado
  6. María José Castillo Bautista
  7. Danna Marcela González Hoyos
  8. Antonio Márquez Vásquez.

Espitia Pacheco must serve a prison sentence and the others must remain under house arrest.
