In a joint investigative and operational activities carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, the National Police and the Military Forces, 234 people were arrested. 

The strategy of the Office of the Attorney General to prioritize the offenses that affect the tranquility and coexistence of citizens, and the investigative actions defined to tackle  actions of criminal organizations during the pandemic allowed the successful completion of the first phase of a great judicial offensive against kidnapping and extortion in all its forms.  

Thanks to an analysis carried out about this crime committed in the regions, the Office of the Attorney General, National Police through Gaula, and the Military Forces, articulated their efforts and focused their work on the municipalities most affected by these two crimes. 

In the last months, 140 simultaneous home searches were carried out in 3 main cities Bogotá, Medellín and Cali, and in 23 Departments of the country: Antioquia, Atlántico, Bolívar, Caldas, Caquetá, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundanamarca, La Guajira, Guaviare , Huila, Magdalena, Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, Santander, and Valle del Cauca.
