The Special Prosecutor’s Office assigned to the transitional justice unit handed over the human remains of six men and one woman, victims of the conflict in the country.
Relatives of the victims received in an honorable manner the remains of their loved ones while they were accompanied by specialized personnel.
These people would have died between 1997 – 2012 in the municipalities of Mesetas, El Castillo, Vistahermosa and Puerto Gaitán (Meta) and La Carpa and San José del Guaviare (Guaviare).
According to information, these deaths would be connected with acts committed by the so-called Farc. In at least three cases, the young people were allegedly recruited by Farc when they were between 14 and 18 years old.
The exhumations were carried out between 2009-2019 in Cemeteries of Granada (two cases) and Vistahermosa, Meta (one case). In cemeteries La Carpa (one case) and San José del Guaviare, Guaviare, (one case). Also, in two clandestine graves located in rural settlements Murujuy and Salinas in Puerto Gaitán (Meta).
