As part of the investigations carried out against drug trafficking organizations that sail through the coasts of the Colombian Pacific in order to smuggle drugs into Central American countries, it was possible to obtain information about the departure of a shipment of drugs on a boat used for lobster fishing.
With this evidence, the Coast Guard of the Colombian Navy identified the vessel and intercepted it in maritime waters of Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca).
16 fuel containers and 28 sacks containing rectangular blocks were found on the boat which were rigorously inspected by CTI members of the Office of the Attorney General who used technical tests. Examinations provided a positive reading for cocaine and the amount was 700 kilograms approximately.
