The Office of the Attorney General and Navy arrested 14 people who allegedly coordinated cocaine shipments to Centro America and Caribbean in go-fast boats. Navigation charts and satellite equipment used in high seas were discovered in operations carried out in Córdoba, Santander, Bolívar and Antioquia.
Five seizures of cocaine in national and international waters which took place last year, have indicated that there is a criminal route used to transport drug from Golfo de Morrosquillo to Centro America and Caribbean. As a result of the proceedings, it was possible to determine that intercepted boats were crewed by experienced pilots who always had satellite equipment that makes it easier to sail the high seas and detect the eventual presence of coastguards of Turbo.
