After inferring his alleged responsibility of the commission of extortion and aggravated misappropriation, this November 15th, some members of the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI) of the Office of the Attorney General arrested the mayor of Agustín Codazzi (Cesar), Luis Vladimir Peñaloza Fuentes for alleged acts of corruption.
Under the coordination of a Public Administration Prosecutor’s Office (Sectional Office in Cesar), investigators determined that the governor (currently suspended from his duties) apparently asked a contractor for money on September 28th, 2018, through a person who was used as a front man, in exchange for authorizing payment orders of billing statements for the execution of contract OP 002 2015.
Through these alleged irregularities, Peñaloza Fuentes (53 years old) took possession of 1,400,000,000 pesos of resources intended for the municipality, which were transferred to his personal account of which there are no supporting documents justifying the origin of these transactions.
