The Office of the Attorney General formally charged lawyer Alexandre Vernot Hernández with bribery (as author) in a public hearing which was held before the judge 51 hearing the case (juez de conocimiento) in Bogotá.
The prosecutor stated that the defendant allegedly offered two million dollars to lawyer Luis David Durán Acuña in order to not collaborate with justice, in such a way that his version on the alleged manipulation of the distribution of processes in the courts of Centro de Servicios Judiciales de los juzgados civiles de Bogotá was not be heard, since this manipulation aimed at assigning to a specific office the lawsuit filed by Hyundai Colombia Automotriz S.A. against Hyundai Motor Company in korea.
