Accused of supplying ELN and other criminal groups in Medellín with weapons and explosives.
At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, the First Criminal Court in Antioquia* (with guarantees) ordered a prison sentence against José Alexánder Peláez Mejía, alias Zeus or el Mono, as alleged trafficker of arms and ammunition for civil and military use.
The defendant was arrested on March 4th at El Dorado airport in Bogotá where he arrived on a commercial flight after being deported by the Honduran authorities.
* In this case this court also has an additional function which is called in Spanish “ambulante” which means a judge/court who travels or moves throughout places/cities when needed.
