During home searches, a fragmentation grenade, a shotgun, and pamphlets containing extortion threats against the rural population of Cimitarra were seized. 

At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a judge ordered a prison sentence against three men accused of extorting rural communities in Cimitarra (Santander). 

Judicial police activities revealed that on January 26, in San Juan de la Carrilera area in Cimitarra, during raids carried out by the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police, the citizens Yorman Felipe Gómez Gómez, Alejandro Santamaría Viana, Manuel Asdrubal George Pérez, and Luz Celci Ruiz Moreno were arrested. The latter was released but remains linked to the case. 

The authorities found and seized a fragmentation grenade for military use, ammunition for military use, firearms ammunition for personal use, a shotgun and pamphlets with extortion threats against the rural population. 

Therefore, a local prosecutor charged the defendants with manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of weapons, restricted-use ammunition or explosives reserved for the Armed Forces, and extortion. None of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.
