Six individuals allegedly involved in the storage and distribution of marijuana and cocaine hydrochloride, transported from northern Cauca, as well as other criminal activities, were prosecuted.
The investigation determined that the narcotics were later distributed and sold in Supía and Riosucio (Caldas), in Guática (Risaralda), and neighborhoods such Las Lomas and San Luis in Rafael Uribe Uribe in Bogotá.
The people allegedly involved are: Fernando Esteban Carvajal Yamav, alias El Indio; José Francisco Hernández Reyes, alias Panela; Yohan Rondón Monroy, alias Samadongo; Angi Xiomara Garzón Varón; Yerson Andrés Yara Garzón; and Andrea Carolina Sánchez Giraldo.
The Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), with support from the National Police and Gaula of Army arrested the defendants during various search warrants.
A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Caldas (Seccional Caldas) charged them according to their individual responsibility, with trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics, unlawful use of real estate, and attempted homicide.
The illicit activities were carried out through the use of properties for storing and preparing dosis of narcotics, as well as the use of cell phones to coordinate deliveries and other criminal actions.
Moreover, it was established that three of the defendants had participated in attacks with firearms against three individuals in incidents that occurred in Bogotá during June and August of this year.
During the procedures, authorities seized 1,450 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, 2,680 grams of marijuana, a scale, and nine cell phones. After charges were brought, the defendants pleaded guilty. A judge imposed prison sentences on three of them and house arrest on the remaining people.
