The evidence collected by the Office of the Attorney General allowed a judge to impose a prison sentence against John Edwar Quintero Bonilla and John Alexander Murcia Ramírez, who are allegedly involved in the robbery and murder of a citizen in Neiva (Huila).
A prosecutor appointed to the so-called Unidad de Vida (Life Unit) of the branch office in Huila (Seccional Huila) charged them with homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated robbery, and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition; all aggravated offenses. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.
According to the investigation, the facts took place on June 30 in a commercial establishment in the so-called Arismendi Mora neighborhood in Neiva. The defendants allegedly arrived at the place and attacked several citizens who were spending time with their families.
During the incident, they allegedly snatched jewelry and a cell phone from the victim. In the midst of the struggle, one of the aggressors allegedly shot him several times, causing the victim’s death. Another person was injured and taken to a medical center. The alleged perpetrators fled the scene on a motorcycle.
The Prosecutor’s Office established that these men allegedly seized valuables worth more than 20,000,000 pesos.
These men were arrested by CTI officers, with support from the National Police.
