A prosecutor appointed to the branch office of Valle del Cauca (Seccional Valle del Cauca) brought Juan Camilo Navarrete Escobar and Jhoan Sebastián Gómez Botero to justice for their alleged participation in the murder of a 24-year-old man. 

Both men were charged with aggravated homicide and illegal possession of firearms in facts that took place  on September 2 in Ipiria neighborhood of Roldanillo. 

According to the investigation, Navarrete Escobar and Gómez Botero arrived at a commercial establishment where the victim was and they allegedly shot him repeatedly, causing his death. 

The defendants attempted to flee the scene but they were arrested by the National Police. Two cell phones and the motorcycle, which they allegedly wanted to use to escape after committing the crime, were seized by the officers.  

None of the suspects pleaded guilty to the charges. Both defendants must serve their sentence in prison by virtue of a court order.
