Investigative actions carried out by the Attorney General’s Office led to identify José Luis Medina Angulo, alias Viejito; Jonier Perea Riascos, alias Junior; and Víctor Manuel Valencia Riascos, alias Vitico, as the people allegedly responsible for the displacement of several families in Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca).
In this sense, a prosecutor charged them with aggravated criminal conspiracy and forced displacement. The three men did not plead guilty to the charges, and a judge sentenced them to prison.
The investigation established that these individuals were part of a criminal organization known as Los Cholos II, which had been illegally operating in this area of the country since 2023.
Among the incidents attributed to them is one that took place on November 25, 2023, when a group of armed men went to Doña Ceci neighborhood and allegedly forced several families to leave their homes after death threats. Furthermore, those who did not want to leave the area had to pay large sums of money to be able to stay.
The house of approximately 16 families who refused to leave the area were allegedly looted.
The three men were arrested during search warrants carried out in four properties at the so-called R-9 neighborhood of this port city by investigators of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), with support from National Navy appointed to Gaula-Army.
