The defendant was arrested in flagrante delicto minutes after attacking the victim and causing several fatal injuries.
The evidence presented by a prosecutor from the so-called Unidad de Vida (Life Unit) of the branch office in Córdoba (Seccional Córdoba), allowed a judge to impose a prison sentence on Manuel Alfredo Zurita Núñez, alleged responsible for the crime of homicide.
Zurita Núñez, known as ‘El Calvo’, allegedly attacked a man with a blunt weapon during a fight. The Office of the Attorney General established that the accused apparently went to his father’s house, took the weapon to carry out the attack, returned to the place and apparently attacked the victim.
The facts took place on February 24 in the Nueva Esperanza area of the municipality of Puerto Escondido (Córdoba).
Police officers arrested the defendant minutes after the attack. He denied his responsibility for the charges brought against him.
