They were charged with aggravated homicide, attempted aggravated homicide; and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
In light of the evidence provided by the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Leonidas Ilario Burbano Tonquino, Jeanklin José Zurita Cortés and Frandi José Martínez Ávila since they are the alleged responsible for the armed attack in which three people died and six more were injured on February 16, in Jamundí (Valle del Cauca).
These men allegedly arrived in a private vehicle to a commercial establishment in the Bonanza neighborhood and shot at the occupants. Later, they fled to Villa Rica (Cauca), where they were arrested by the National Police.
In the procedure, a firearm, 2 magazines, 11 cartridges, a case, 3 cell phones and a vehicle were seized from them.
The detainees, two of them from Venezuela, were brought before hearings. A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Cali (Seccional Cali) charged them with aggravated homicide, attempted aggravated homicide; and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.
