At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Arom de Jesús Bejarano Silgado, alleged leader of the so-called Nicolás Antonio Urango Reyes substructure of the ‘Clan del Golfo’, that operates in Cartagena.

The defendant was charged with manufacturing, trafficking, aggravated possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. He did not plead guilty to the charges.

According to the investigation, Bejarano Silgado has been a member of the criminal organization for 10 years, and he was allegedly in charge of coordinating the commission of criminal actions in the neighborhoods Flor del Campo, Bicentenario, Villa Estrella, 13 de Junio, Olaya Herrera and el Pozón in Cartagena.

During a home search operation, carried out by the National Police in a property in the Bicentenario neighborhood, Bejarano Silgado was arrested in fragrante, and a firearm, a magazine and eight 9-millimeter cartridges were seized from him.

This man had previously been prosecuted for homicide and conspiracy to commit a crime due to his alleged participation as the head of the criminal organization’s hitmen.
