A judge in Cartagena approved a preliminary agreement freely and voluntarily signed by Diocemel Barrios Noguera with the Attorney General’s Office. The sentence imposed was 5 years and 7 months in prison since the person was found responsible for the crimes of manufacture, trafficking or possession of restricted use weapons for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces; and illegal use of personal and real state property.
The Office of the Attorney General demonstrated that the facts took place on February 26, 2020, in the municipality of Tiquisio (Bolívar). That day, during a home search carried out by the National Police in a house located at 20 de Julio neighborhood, the defendant was arrested in flagrante delicto in possession of two bars of explosives which are not allowed for use by the civilian population.
In addition, it was proven that Barrios Noguera’s house was used for the sale of narcotics.
The decision rules the payment of a fine of 666.5 current monthly wages, and he was disbarred from the practice of law and public functions for a period equal to that of the custodial sentence.
