The evidence obtained by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the arrest of Sebastián Silva Melo for his alleged responsibility in the murder of a businessman owning a video game establishment in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).

For these facts, a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Norte de Santander charged him with homicide and qualified theft (both aggravated).

The investigation revealed that on October 15, the defendant, in the company of another man, entered the victim’s home to steal the profits of his business. In the middle of the event, a fight took place and the merchant was wounded with a knife. The severity of the injuries caused his death.

Silva Melo did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General. A judge imposed a prison sentence.
