The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted José Adalberto Narváez Aux and Yonny Piter Álvarez Hortúa for being the alleged perpetrators of the murder of two university students, 17 and 19. The facts took place on May 29 in a rural area of Jamundí (Valle del Cauca).
The evidence collected established that the victims traveled from Pasto (Nariño) to Jamundí (Valle del Cauca) and remained in a nightclub in the municipality of Yumbo (Valle del Cauca) until the early hours of May 29.
Given the victims’ refusal to agree to what the defendants demanded, the women were taken to Villacolombia area, in Jamundí, where they were subjected to cruel treatment, beaten on multiple occasions with blunt objects and shot at point-blank range. Their corpses were abandoned on public roads.
A prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Cali charged the defendants with aggravated femicide and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
Personnel from Sijín of the National Police arrested the defendants on September 27, in Jamundí and La Hormiga (Putumayo).
