At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on José Ignacio Piña, alias Tuti, for the alleged commission of homicide on August 5 in the Pueblo Galán neighborhood, in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).

This person was charged with homicide and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. He did not plead guilty.

On the day of the facts, the defendant allegedly arrived at the place where the victim was and, apparently, attacked him with a firearm. The severity of the injuries caused his death days later in a hospital. The joint work of a prosecutor appointed to the so-called Grupo de Vida, officers from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) and the National Police led to the identification of alias Tuti as the alleged perpetrator of the murder.
